Many surprised by harvest results
COOKSVILLE – Growers and retailers alike are pleasantly surprised with harvest results coming out of the field this fall.
“The yields are coming in better than expected having that hot July weather we had, but I think August saved us,” said Doug Matlock, manager of the Brandt Consolidated Cooksville facility.
Matlock says Brandt has been working to make sure soil tests are up to date and preparing for dry fertilizer application. Crews will also be busy spraying fields this fall for winter annuals in order to have clean fields for the start of the next growing season.
