Hearing planned in McLean County

A public hearing for a proposed McLean County wind farm is planned for Tuesday, Jan. 2 starting at 7:10 p.m. in the Astroth Community Education Center of Heartland Community College in Normal.

McLean County Wind Energy LLC, managed by Invenergy Wind Development North America LLC, filed the application for a special use for a Wind Energy Conversion System consisting of up to 117 wind turbine generators which are up to 500 feet in height. This includes the townships of Chenoa, Gridley, Lawndale, Lexington and Money Creek.

According to the McLean County zoning notice, this project is located east of County Highway 29, south of U.S. Route 24, west of County Roads 3570 East and 3600 East and north of State Route 165.
