Brandt settles into Central Illinois

Sean Brand of Brandt is shown at the Midwest Ag Expo last month near his company display / CIFN photo.

BLOOMINGTON – Brandt started moving into its new Bloomington-Normal manufacturing facility Feb. 1.

Aside from moving equipment in and performing machine work, the company has starting the hiring process, according to Sean Brand, Illinois territory representative for Brandt.

“They want to start manufacturing products by April 1 if possible and they want to have at least 70 employees right off the bat and work their way up from there,” Brand explained.

Brandt – not to be confused with the area fertilizer dealer of the same name – sells various types of farm equipment and is based in Canada.

“We do grain carts, grain vacs and pretty much anything that handles grain,” Brand noted.

Brandt had a presence at last month’s Midwest Ag Expo near Gifford with a large display in the middle of the show area, featuring grain belts and drive over grain decks. The company sells augers as a big as 90 feet and smaller items as well. Several farmers stopped by the booth to inquire about the company and its products.

Brand has worked with the company since August and said the company experienced a successful sales period last fall. More information can be found online at www.brandt.ca.
