Thanksgiving meal cost down
For the third straight year, the cost of your Thanksgiving dinner is down, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The 33rd annual survey of classic food items found on dinner tables across the country indicated the average cost of this year’s meal for 10 people is $48.90 or less than $5.00 per person. This is a decrease of 22 cents from last year. Turkey costs less than last year at $21.71 for a 16-pounder. Retail turkey prices are the lowest since 2014.
Items in the Farm Bureau survey include turkey, stuffing, rolls with butter, sweet potatoes, coffee, milk, a veggie tray and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
