Kinze plans new design for 2020

Kinze has developed a 4700 series planter with an all new design for the 2020 planting season.

“This particular planter is a 36 row with 20 inch spacing,” explained Eric Broadbent, senior director of North American sales. “For those operations that require narrow row spacing, this is a planter that may work for them.”

Kinze has a cast row unit, also known as the 4000 series, with 12 inches of row unit travel up and down.

“It has 120 bushel capacity for seed and 600 gallons of fertilizer capacity,” Broadbent added.

Hydraulic weight transfer is standard on this particular planter and the transport tires are in the front, unlike the 4900 series which has tires right between the rows. Kinze expects to come out with this model in 24 rows with 30 and 20 inch spacing.

“In the future, there are a lot of exciting things that are going to happen with this frame.”

As growers prepare for the future of high speed planting, this is a planter that will migrate right along with the new technology.

“We are pretty excited about the versatility of this frame today as well as what it could do for us in the future,” Broadbent said.
