Conservation day planned around Lake Bloomington

A Conservation in Action Field Day is set for April 3, beginning at Davis Lodge at Lake Bloomington with a number of stops along the way.

This conservation tour, hosted by McLean County SWCD, Purdue University, NREC, The Nature Conservancy and Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership, looks at how drainage tile impacts water quality, how cover crops play a role in nutrient runoff management and the cost associated with treating nutrients in the water.

Tour stops include the Armstrong-SENDLAB Tile Drainage site in Lexington, Wetlands site at Franklin Research and Demonstration Farm and the City of Bloomington Water Treatment plant.

To RSVP, reach out to the McLean County SWCD office at 309-452-3848, extension 3.
