Corn silking at 91 percent

Statewide, the average temperature was 76.5 degrees. Precipitation averaged 0.05 inches, 0.97 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent very short, 12 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 4 percent very short, 12 percent short, 80 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus.
Corn silking reached 91 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 82 percent. Corn dough reached 20 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 22 percent. Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 45 percent good, and 23 percent excellent.
Soybeans blooming reached 77 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 71 percent. Soybeans setting pods reached 38 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 37 percent. Soybeans condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 44 percent good, and 20 percent excellent.
