Deer totals surpass last year

Preliminary totals have been released for the 2022-2023 Illinois deer hunting seasons.

Just over 158,000 deer were harvested by hunters in the state during the recent archery and firearm seasons which concluded in mid-January. This surpasses last year’s total number of deer harvested which was over 146,000.
