Heavy rain, storm damage reported
Several areas in the state reported heavy rainfall and damage from severe storms which rolled through Illinois Thursday.
Could this be the start of a pattern to get us out of the drought? They often say a drought ends severely with extreme weather and this could be the case.
Sangamon and Champaign counties had storm damage – with Springfield reporting several tree branches down and issues reported at Willard Airport. A few cornfields had noticeable wind damage.

Fairbury – 1.2 inches
Flanagan – 2 inches
Cropsey – 1.5 inches
Forrest – 1.2 inches
Odell – 0.7 inches
Lexington – 1.4 inches
Anchor – 1.5 inches
Downs – 1.5 inches
Clark County (in the Mill Creek Lake area) – 3 inches
