Reunion special for Case fans
PONTIAC – This year’s Threshermen’s Reunion near Pontiac was a special one for Case fans as it hosted the 37th annual J.I. Case Heritage Foundation Expo.
The foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded years ago by a group of Case enthusiasts. That was back when the expo mainly included steam machines when it began in Oklahoma in 1987.
“As time has progressed, it has changed to more of the tractors,” said John Ahlers of Minnesota, president of the J.I. Case Heritage Foundation.
Ahlers and others were stationed at the center of the Threshermen’s Reunion grounds near the large Case display selling merchandise and answering questions about tractors. One local family brought 40 Case units to the reunion.
The group has around 1300 members in several states and countries.
“We do a 44-page magazine four times a year,” added Ahlers.
A Case banquet was held on Saturday evening with a catered meal. Last year, the group was in North Carolina and Greenville, Illinois the year before that.
“We’ve been out in Kansas, Wisconsin, Canada and Minnesota.”
Iowa will be the site of a big show in 2025 when the J.I Case Heritage Foundation will join forces with the J.I. Case Collector’s Association.
More information can be found at www.caseheritage.org. The website lists the locations for the expo and ways to order the group’s magazine.
The Threshermen’s Reunion concluded its five-day Labor Day weekend run on Monday and returns in a year when the theme will be John Deere.
