Successful opening weekend

The first firearm deer hunting weekend of the season in Illinois saw over 54,000 deer harvested.

Hunting season is off to a fast start for hunters in the state as opening weekend had an increase in the number of deer taken over the past two years.

This year’s firearm deer season concludes the weekend starting Thursday, Dec. 5.
